Eleanor Leger is the Founder of Eden Specialty Ciders in Newport, Vermont. She is the author of “Guide to Producing Vermont Ice Cider” and “Cidernomics: Life in the Underdog Economy”(cidernomics.com). Eleanor began producing ice cider in the basement of her Vermont farmhouse in 2007, and is recognized as one of the world’s leading producers of this specialty dessert cider. Her ice ciders and sparkling ciders have been seen in Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Food & Wine, JancisRobinson.com, Imbibe, Edible, Eater, and CBS Morning News. Eden has won numerous best in class and gold medal awards, Dan Berger, San Francisco Wine Chronicle competition, Good Food Awards, Los Angeles International Wine Competition, and the International Wine & Spirits Competition.
Eleanor has been a member of the Board of Directors of the American Cider Association since 2016, serving three terms as President of the Board, and is a Co-Founder of the Vermont Cider Makers Association. She was also a member of the inaugural Vermont Working Lands Enterprise Board.
